After a series of failed attempts to improve my routine, I stopped trying altogether. Now even simple changes feel pointless before I begin. It’s like my brain already decided the outcome. I want to understand this better. Can someone share learned helplessness examples and how to overcome it?

Yep, that can turn into learned helplessness pretty fast — I’ve seen it happen when someone tries a new routine a few times, it falls apart, and then they stop believing effort matters. A friend of mine did exactly that with morning workouts: after three failed starts, he quit for months. What helped was shrinking the goal so much it felt almost silly. This article, learned helplessness examples and how to overcome it , explains the pattern and ways to start reversing it.

Having faced my own setbacks in storytelling, it’s refreshing to see a space that encourages vulnerability and resilience. Our narratives shape community bonds; sharing struggles can inspire deeper connections and healing.
