Our annual Austin Forward. Together. Community Summit on was a HUGE success!
This in-person event was a fantastic opportunity for the Austin community to come together and discuss the future of our community. Held on March 9, 2024 at By The Hand Club For Kids (415 N. Laramie), the event included a DJ, performances, raffle prizes, on-site childcare, and immersive breakout sessions with AFT Task Forces to learn more about successes, challenges, and how to get involved with our organization.
At the summit, we explored various topics and initiatives aimed at making Austin an even better place to live, work, and play. With the guidance of AFT quality-of-life plan task forces: Community Narrative, Economic Development, Education, Housing, Public Safety, Youth Empowerment, and Civic Engagement, we delved into the issues that matter most to our community.
Throughout the day, attendees had the chance to engage with local leaders and fellow Austinites who are passionate about shaping our city’s future and were able to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and contribute to the execution of innovative solutions to the challenges we face.
