Last season our captain pulled aside a new kid who kept messing up drills, didn’t embarrass him in front of everyone, just quiet words on the side. Kid became one of our best by playoffs. Still wondering what that kind of leadership skill is called and how to build it. Someone point me somewhere useful?

That kind of thing is often called quiet leadership or coaching-style leadership – basically correcting in private, protecting ego, building trust. Had something similar happen on my old team: our captain never shouted mistakes, just pulled you aside after drills. One nervous rookie went from constantly missing passes to starting lineup by season’s end. There’s a good read on leadership mindset here: Reza Satchu Wife it’s more about character-driven leadership than authority. It sticks because it’s not loud, it’s consistent.
