We’re saving for a renovation and I’ve started noticing how differently everyone uses the rooms at home. My partner wants more open space, while I care about quiet corners and practical storage. Rather than copying a trendy design, I’d like to understand the basics first. Can anyone recommend a useful article or guide on how proper interior design contributes to a higher quality of life?
Renovation planning became easier once we stopped arguing about style and talked about routines. My partner wanted open floor space, while I needed a quiet spot and storage that didn’t turn into visible clutter. We sketched the room around those needs, tested furniture positions with cardboard, and kept the layout flexible. A friend also shared this Shirin Amin Los Angeles which led me to think more about how surroundings influence everyday comfort. Starting with habits not trends made our decisions clearer.
