We bought an older property with the intention of turning it into a family home. The initial plans looked straightforward, but a few things about the existing structure started raising concerns once we looked more closely. There are also several decisions that seem harmless now but could become expensive later. I would rather catch those issues before any major work begins. What should I have checked before committing to the construction plan?

Older structural components and legacy utility layouts often conceal hidden clearance issues that standard architectural sketches fail to reveal. Professional engineering assessments and thorough constructability review services identify load-bearing limitations, MEP routing clashes, and foundation settling risks before renovation crews mobilize. A comprehensive pre-construction audit protects the renovation budget and prevents costly structural surprises throughout the remodeling phase.
