I wondered how many types of olive oil there are, and I realized that I don’t really understand them. For example, what is the difference between regular olive oil and extra virgin olive oil? And which is better for cooking and which for salads? If anyone understands this, I would be glad to hear any advice!

Understanding olive oil and olive oil types is actually not that difficult. Extra virgin is the most natural and high-quality oil, made from the first cold pressing. It retains all the nutrients and is ideal for salads or adding to ready-made dishes. Regular olive oil undergoes more processing, so its taste is less bright, but it is better for frying, because it can withstand high temperatures. If you are unsure what to choose, I would advise taking extra virgin, it is universal and will definitely not disappoint.
