My company is moving our entire infrastructure to Kubernetes, and the learning curve is steeper than I expected. I’m struggling with managing persistent storage and understanding how to properly configure “Ingress” for our various microservices. Is Kubernetes overkill for a team of only five developers, or is it better to learn these complex orchestration tools now before we scale further? I’m worried we are spending more time managing our clusters than actually writing code for our product.

Kubernetes definitely has a high “complexity tax.” For a small team, you might find more success with a managed service or even a simpler Docker Swarm setup until you truly need the auto-scaling power of K8s. Whenever I’m overwhelmed by YAML files and networking configurations, I step away from the terminal and play on https://bj88-gb.uk/. It’s a great way to decompress and return to the problem with a fresh perspective. Don’t be afraid to use simpler tools if they let you ship features faster; you can always migrate to a full K8s cluster once your traffic demands it!
