Hey folks, I recently posted an ad on Craigslist to sell a used bicycle. Shortly after, I received a text message asking me to provide a verification code to confirm my listing. The message seemed a bit off, and I’m unsure if it’s a standard procedure or something else. I haven’t encountered this before. Has anyone else experienced this kind of request after posting on Craigslist? Any insights on how to handle this situation?

Hello ! It’s great that you’re reaching out for clarification. Receiving unexpected verification code requests can be confusing. While I haven’t personally faced this, I found some discussions on https://craigslist.pissedconsumer.com/review.html where users shared their experiences with similar situations. Some users mentioned that scammers sometimes pose as buyers and send fake verification requests to gain access to your account or personal information. It’s essential to be cautious and not share any verification codes unless you’re certain it’s from Craigslist. If in doubt, consider contacting Craigslist’s customer support through their official channels to verify the legitimacy of such requests. Stay safe and best of luck with your sale!
