Project Description

The goal of the Micro Market Recovery Program is to restart the housing market in Austin by stabilizing existing, and creating new, building owners and renters in the Levin Park neighborhood. ACT will achieve this goal by working with community partners and other housing market stakeholders to acquire and redevelop vacant properties, attract new homebuyers and renters to the neighborhood, and build community among residents.

Position Description

The primary role of the Project Coordinator is to facilitate the redevelopment and reoccupation of vacant buildings in the Levin Park Neighborhood of Austin. More specifically, the Project Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the following responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop relationships with neighborhood property owners
  • Assist developers and investors to acquire and develop vacant properties
  • Coordinate marketing events to attract new homebuyers and investors
  • Assist prospective homebuyers connect with lenders, realtors, and other partners

Qualifications

The Project Coordinator must have 2-3 years experience in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Community Development, or related fields. The position requires a familiarity with the Austin community, experience with data management, the ability to use email marketing and social media tools, and a high level of self-motivation.

Hours and Compensation

The Project Coordinator will be compensated based on experience for 30 hours per week for a trial period ending June 30, 2015. There is potential for a salaried position after the trial period.
